The Hall is a lovely and very cost effective venue for weddings and parties, nestled in the South Downs with spectacular views. It’s a short walk from East Meon All Saints Church and has parking for those coming further. The large and small halls accommodate up to 100 seated for meals, and the kitchens allow external or self-catering arrangements.
The Hall is licensed, and is just 200 yards from the village’s two pubs. Guests can also enjoy the village green and the hall’s private lawned area, and there is a playground for children. We offer full use of the venue for a low fixed fee from Friday to Sunday lunch allowing plenty of time to set up and clear up.
Jane Cobley used the hall for her daughter’s wedding. Jane says “I would say that the reception in the village hall was a huge success. We had plenty of room, light, and flexibility for the activities we wanted. I would certainly recommend it to others.”
The hall was ‘dressed by ‘1st class Events’ https://www.first-class-events.co.uk “This couple were amazing! They needed a day to dress the hall and they completely transformed the space. They created a roof and walls in both halls. They also provided lighting and up-lighters which made a big impact. The small hall was used for a disco and we had lights in the ceiling and uplighters. The morning after the wedding they had dismantled everything by about 11.00am! I would highly recommend them”.
Colin & Florence Mullins chose to use East Meon Village hall as “it was a blank canvas, we could create our own wedding for a fraction of the costs associated with the standard ‘conveyor belt weddings’ often advertised elsewhere. The hall feels spacious and light along with having a beautiful back drop with all the green space, perfect for wedding pictures! We had around 120 guests, that all fitted comfortably within the main hall, making use of the smaller room for the catering and bar. we used a local farmer Matt Atkinson to provide a hog roast and Pinks Vintage Ice Cream company for desert. Tobias Jacks Mobile Bar was used for both the bar and music.A venue we’d definitely recommend!”
Dawn Aytoun married at the Hall. “The flexibility of the venue was fantastic, and the fact that we had full use of the venue for the full weekend meant we could set up the day before, and tidy up the day after with none of the worry of dealing with it on the actual day.
The hall made our day exactly what we wanted it to be. We could invite everyone we wanted to, had flexibility of space to do the ceremony, have the hog roast, drink and party inside and outside. We could decorate it just as we wanted to, and had enough time to get it exactly how we wanted the day before and then pack down the day after. We didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day.”
